Issue 14 – Making a Shaker-style wall cabinet.

Many years ago I became fascinated with Shaker furniture for its simple, no-frills utilitarian design. Books about the Shakers are always littered with photographs of rooms prominently displaying one or two pieces of furniture standing on the signature wide-boarded wood floors of the time. But, looking beyond the ‘staring’ piece there are always other furnishings being kept out of the way hanging on those characteristic shaker pegs.
In this article I make a small hanging cupboard together with a pegboard.
