I acquired several slabs of Cherry that I thought would make a nice cherry coffee table to replace the one I made a couple of years ago. These slabs are well out of true and need flattening – quite a workout!
The plane is a scrub plane – the surface will be progressively brought down to smooth using:
Scrub, Jack, Jointer and finally smoothing plane
There is one long crack in the slab which will be tied together with at least one butterfly inlay
