I love these old tool challenges you come up with! The v plane last month had me imagining many things – like a device to use between the skirting and floor boards to install micro bore pipes with! Or decorative planing a skirting or architrave or even furniture mouldings. The brass plate looks like a uniform protector for polishing brass buttons etc. The above some sort of mitre device for installing roof purlins or corner mitre for eaves work or even architraves perhaps?
